Final dive of the trip!

We headed out yesterday after lunch for the final dive of the trip. The Air and water were perfectly still and the water was as clear as could be. I finally got my GoPro working. The extended battery I had purchased did not seal properly and kept turning it off. Going back to the original set up in a little bit of black tape, I had a perfectly working GoPro for the start of this final dive. Steven and I caught another 12 lobsters with some big boys that got away. I got some amazing footage of lobsters in action, tropical fish and even a bonnet head shark that kept following me around as if I might be his new day meal. Good luck with that boy, I've got a big knife! So with Steven back up on the boat, I chose to stay down for another 20 minutes and film as much as I could until I ran out of ST card. Just when I was going to come up, I saw a pair of tentacles poking out of the hole and went to investigate. It was a very good size legal lobster, and I teased him out of the hole with the go Pro. We proceeded to have a little tug-of-war with the GoPro. thinking it was something edible. And then he scooted back in his home. Then something amazing happened! A tickle stick dropped into the sand right before me and a net fell next to it. At this point I knew there was a lobster God! They were actually sent down by Stevens girlfriend, who had seen the battle well floating on the surface with her mask and snorkel. So I picked them up and without my mentor by my side, decided to get this guy myself. At the same time, the bonnet shark came back and was circling me interested in what I was trying to do. He was about 2 1/2 or 3 feet and no real threat, but it did add to the excitement. So using the skills I learned from Steven over the last few days, I tickled the lobster out of the hole and caught him in then net. I triumphantly rose to the surface and showed Steven my catch. This was my final exam in lobstering, and I passed. What an amazing afternoon. I can't wait to get the video off of the GoPro and see how good it looks. I will post some on the blog and send out emails to remind yall to take a look.
That was the best ending to a lobster trip I can imagine.
